Adam Hamilton is senior pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, one of the fastest growing, most highly visible churches in the country. The Church Report named Hamilton's congregation the most influential mainline church in America, and he preached at the National Prayer Service as part of the presidential inauguration festivities in 2013. Hamilton is the best-selling and award-winning author ofWhy? Debi Nixon serves as one of the Managing Executive Directors at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, with direct oversight of the Regional Campuses and Catalyst Ministry. She has served on the church staff in several key roles moving from volunteer to staff member in 1994 as the founding Director of Children’s Ministries. She is passionate about the renewal of the church and helps lead Church of the Resurrections initiatives for leadership training and resource sharing for churches across the country. Debi has a BS in Marketing and spent ten years in corporate sales, training, special event planning, and retail management. She and her husband live in Olathe, Kansas.
Carol Cartmill is Executive Director of Adult Discipleship at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. In this role, she applies her passion for equipping people for ministry, practical experience from working in the local church, and an educational background in organizational management and leadership. She launched the spiritual gifts development program at COR in 1998. She and her husband Jim have raised two daughters and reside in Overland Park, Kansas. Carol is the co-author of Serving from the Heart, Leadership from the Heart, Leadership Essentials, and Serving from the Heart for Youth. She has led workshops relating to equipping ministries on both the local and national level.
Yvonne Gentile is Director of Connections at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Before joining the church staff in 2011, she worked in the corporate world and used her passion for equipping and developing emerging leaders on COR's Spiritual Gifts Team, Leadership Development Team, and Committee on Lay Leadership. Yvonne is co-author of Serving from the Heart, Leadership from the Heart, Leadership Essentials, and Serving from the Heart for Youth. She has led workshops relating to equipping ministries on both the local and national level.
Yvonne and her husband Frank live in Overland Park, Kansas, and have a son and a daughter.
Scott Chrostek is the campus pastor of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown. Scott and his wife, the Reverend Wendy Lyons Chrostek, moved to downtown Kansas City from Detroit, Michigan. Prior to this move, Scott worked as an Associate Pastor at Brighton First United Methodist Church, where he was largely responsible for planning and leading worship, developing programs for youth and young adults, and building bridges into the city of Detroit through mission and service.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan and a Master of Divinity degree at the Duke Divinity School. While at Duke, Scott worked on staff for two years at the Duke University Chapel, he was student body president and he worked closely with the Deans of both the Divinity School and University Chapel.
The Downtown Campus of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection reaches out to non-religious and nominally religious urban dwellers, creating an environment that fosters spiritual development through knowing, loving and serving God.
Karen Lampe is the Executive Pastor of Congregational Care at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, in Leawood, Kansas. Pastor Karen serves in conjunction with senior pastor, Adam Hamilton, a team of Associate Pastors and Volunteer Congregational Care Ministers to provide spiritual care for the congregation of more than 18,000 members. In her capacity as Executive Pastor of Congregational Care she guides and directs many programs and initiatives under her discretion.
Chris Folmsbee is the director of group life at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, one of the nation's fastest growing and largest churches. He is the author of several books on topics including spiritual formation, missional living, and adolescent faith development. Chris lives with his wife, Gina, in Overland Park, Kansas, and has three children named Megan, Drew, and Luke.
Michelle Kirby has been on staff at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas since July 2002. Currently she serves as the Learning Events Program Director. She oversees many of the adult teaching ministries of the church by providing vision and direction to staff and volunteers. Her position also includes curriculum writing and development, teaching, and leadership development. Before assuming her current position she was the Alpha Ministry Program Director. She has been a guest speaker at several regional and international Alpha conferences.
Jeff Kirby serves on the Adult Discipleship Team at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Among other duties, he leads men's ministries and the Alpha program, for which he is a national trainer. With COR since 2001, Jeff is a national and international educator and speaker, as well as a consultant on leadership development. His Bible study courses at Resurrection often bring in 500+ participants, who come to hear Jeff’s rich and challenging style of teaching.
Clayton Smith serves as the Executive Pastor of Stewardship and Generosity at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. He’s been a Senior Pastor in the United Methodist Church for more than 25 years and an Ordained Elder for more than 40 years. He and his wife Lori have been married 28years and live in Stilwell, Kansas.
