Scott Chrostek is the campus pastor of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown. Scott and his wife, the Reverend Wendy Lyons Chrostek, moved to downtown Kansas City from Detroit, Michigan. Prior to this move, Scott worked as an Associate Pastor at Brighton First United Methodist Church, where he was largely responsible for planning and leading worship, developing programs for youth and young adults, and building bridges into the city of Detroit through mission and service. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan and a Master of Divinity degree at the Duke Divinity School. While at Duke, Scott worked on staff for two years at the Duke University Chapel, he was student body president and he worked closely with the Deans of both the Divinity School and University Chapel. The Downtown Campus of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection reaches out to non-religious and nominally religious urban dwellers, creating an environment that fosters spiritual development through knowing, loving and serving God.
